1.5hr Crystal Sound Bowl Meditation

Service Description

Sound Meditation is normally done with a restorative type class. Allowing the student to experience the vibration of different instruments such as Crystal singing bowls, bells, chimes, rattles, or gongs. The sound may help to calm the body and mind. When using these frequencies our brainwaves can change from our normal beta state (normal consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness), to theta (meditative state), and possibly delta (sleep where internal healing can occur). Some Contraindications Pregnant women are advised to be cautious when participating in any form of sound healing, especially during the first 12 weeks, by avoiding sound instruments being placed on the body. Anyone with serious mental health issues should always consult their doctor before attending sound meditation. Those with sound-induced epilepsy should always consult their doctor to ensure they receive the best anti-epileptic medication and are in no danger of seizures caused by healing sounds vibrations. For people with an implanted heart pacemaker, stent, or shunt, the sound instruments would need to be kept at a minimum distance of 8 inches away, and never be placed directly on or near metal implants. In case of any prior nerve damage, avoid sound healing. Instruments should not be placed on or near open wounds or scars that are not yet healed. Please be sure to advise the sound instructor if any of the above data applies to you. Although we don’t normally place the instruments on the body during sound meditation we do need to be aware of any precautions that may need to be taken.
